Police in Bournemouth say they believe two car crashes reported to them may be linked.

A silver Toyota Yaris was found on its side on Castle Lane East at around 10.49pm on Sunday (28th May).

The vehicle collided with a low wall and lamppost, with the occupants running away from the scene.

Officers also received a report of a fail-to-stop collision on the same road on the same night, involving a motorbike and a vehicle, close to the Royal Bournemouth Hospital.

PC Jo Morgan, of Bournemouth police, said:

“It is possible that these two incidents are linked with the Toyota Yaris possibly being the vehicle involved in the motorbike collision.

“Unfortunately, we have currently no further details about the motorbike incident as it does not appear to have been reported to police by the rider.

“Therefore, I am very keen to speak to the motorbike rider in order to obtain any available information.

“I am also appealing for any witnesses to either collision or anyone with relevant dashcam footage to please come forward as you might have information that could help our investigations.”
