Two bikes and a bottle of prosecco stolen from Dorset caravan park

Officers believe the incident is linked to a further incident that night

Officers investigating the theft of two bikes at a caravan park in Purbeck are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

A white Giant Anthem mountain bike and a black Laufey Orbea bike were stolen at the Hunters Moon Caravan Park near Wareham between 10pm on Saturday 24 July and 7am on Sunday 25 July 2021. The bikes had been left inside the awning of a caravan and were taken along with a bottle of Prosecco.

The Orbea bike was subsequently found damaged behind the toilet block of the campsite.

The incident is being linked to a further incident where bikes were stolen at the caravan park on the same night.

Police Constable Phil Pearson, of Purbeck police, said: “We are carrying out enquiries into this incident and I would appeal to anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in the area, or who has any information that might assist our investigation to please come forward.

“I am also issuing an image of the bike that has not been recovered and would urge anyone who comes across a similar bike being offered for sale locally or online in suspicious circumstances to please get in touch.”
