Weymouth Town Council are opening up Tumbledown to residents so they can see what's been happening on site.

They're encouraging visitors to have a look around the former farm on Saturday 1 October to see how it's been transformed so far.

People will get to see the growing fields where the vegetables which are shared with the Nest social supermarket are produced, as well as the Forest School space children and families can use as an outdoor learning experience.

"Come along to the open day and learn more about the history of Tumbledown, see what progress has been made since the Council took on the former farm," Councillor Jon Orrell said.

"You can also discover how you can get involved and share ideas on shaping Tumbledown's development for the benefit of the community."

But the council aren't stopping there as they also want to show residents future plans for the site including new buildings and growing areas.

Visitors will have the chance to name the three growing fields as there will be a suggestion box available on the day.

But this open day is also an opportunity for people to show their interest if they want to give up their time and volunteer on the site.

The open day takes place from 1.30pm to 3.30pm, with guided walks starting from 1.45pm and nature walks starting at 1.30pm and 2pm.
