Travellers pitch up at Bridport Leisure Centre
The centre stayed shut and rugby players weren't able to get on the field
Travellers have moved on after pitching up on the field at Bridport Leisure Centre.
The leisure centre stayed shut yesterday and rugby players weren't able to get on the field due to the unauthorised camp.
Officers from the local neighbourhood policing team carried out regular patrols.
A spokesperson for Bridport Police said:
"Following discussion with the local authority and the leisure centre, officers from the local neighbourhood policing team gave the group a direction under section 62 of the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act to vacate the site.
"We are pleased to say it's all back to normal today. The group have now left the area and there is no longer an unauthorised encampment at the leisure centre."
