Three arrested after man attacked by group in Blandford
Police say you may notice an increased police presence in Blandford today.
Detectives investigating a reported assault that left a man with serious injuries in Blandford have made further arrests.
Dorset Police received a report that at around 1.10am on Sunday 8 August 2021, the victim – a man aged in his 20s – was walking through the car park of Morrisons in West Street when he was approached by a group of men and assaulted.
As a result of the incident he suffered a fractured skull and was taken to hospital for treatment. His condition is not life-threatening.
On Tuesday 11 August 2021 a 35-year-old man from Blandford was arrested on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent. He is currently assisting officers with their enquiries.
A 39-year-old man from Blandford was also arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and has been released under investigation while enquiries continue.
A 50-year-old man from Blandford previously arrested on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent remains released under investigation pending further enquiries.
Detectives are continuing to appeal for witnesses or anyone with information that may assist their enquiries to please come forward.
