Ten-year-old struck in hit-and-run near Wool

Police are asking any witnesses to get in touch.

A 10-year-old girl has been taken to hospital after she was hit by a car near Wool this afternoon.

It happened at around 1:20pm this afternoon on A352 Dorchester Road near to Colliers Lane.

The car, a black Peugeot, hit the girl and failed to stop at the incident.

The 10-year-old female pedestrian sustained minor injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.

The driver of the car – a black Peugeot saloon – failed to stop at the scene and headed toward Winfrith along the A352.

Police Constable Duncan Roberts, of the traffic unit, said: “I am appealing to anyone who was in the area and witnessed what happened to please get in touch.

“I would also urge motorists who were travelling in the area to check their dashcams for any relevant footage to assist my enquiries.

“Finally, I would like to appeal to the driver of the vehicle involved to please come forward so we can take your account of what happened.”
