Works are taking place today (Thursday 21st November) to temporarily fix a damaged sewer in Poole.

Wessex Water will be closing about 120 metres of Ringwood Road southbound, from the junction with Mannings Heath Road and Herbert Avenue while they're on site.

They'll be attaching a pipe to the damaged area, which collapsed at the end of October.

A full repair will be carried out at a later date.

The work's due to start from 9.30am this morning, with the road reopening by 7.00am on Friday (22nd November).

A Wessex Water spokesperson said:

“By installing the temporary pipe and delaying the repair, we can avoid worsening traffic in the area with other roadworks happening nearby and keep the sewer network working as normal.

“We will liaise with BCP Council to agree a date for the full sewer repair to begin and ensure that any associated traffic management measures are well publicised. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
