Teenager jailed for Bournemouth aggravated burglary
19 year old Feliciano Mendes broke into a home with a hammer
A teenager's been given a five year and two month jail sentence for an aggravated burglary in Bournemouth.
19 year old Feliciano Mendes, from Stratford in London, broke into a home in Moore Avenue in Kinson, by smashing a window with a hammer, in May this year.
The victim and her two young children barricaded themselves in a bedroom, fearing for their safety.
Mendes searched the property, damaging items.
The incident was immediately reported to police, with Mendes identified as a suspect and arrested shortly afterwards.
He admitted aggravated burglary with intent to cause criminal damage at a previous hearing and has now been sentenced at Bournemouth Crown Court.
Detective Constable Samantha James, of Bournemouth CID, said:
“This was a terrifying ordeal for the victim and her two children who were present in the address during this incident. I would like to personally thank them for their bravery and courage throughout the investigative process.
“There is no place for criminality such as this within our community and I am pleased that Mendes has been brought to justice for his actions.”
