A teenage boy has been charged and further arrests have been made following an alleged serious assault in Poole.

Dorset Police received a report at around 12.05am on Friday 23 August of a disturbance at an address in Vale Road in Poole.

During the incident, a man aged in his late teens sustained a stab wound. He has been taken to hospital for treatment and his condition is described as serious.

A spokesman for Dorset Police told us:

"Following initial enquiries, a 15-year-old boy from Poole has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and a 16-year-old Bournemouth girl has been arrested on suspicion of affray. They both remain in police custody.

"Vale Road has been closed to allow for a detailed examination of the scene to be carried out.

"There will be an increased policing presence in the area and we would encourage anyone with information or concerns to please speak with an officer."
