A 14 year old boy has been left with a number of injuries after being assaulted by another male teenager.

The incident happened at around 3.10pm on Wednesday 9th February on Chickerell Road, near the junction with Everdene Drive.

The victim broke his arm in the incident and also had to be treated for concussion.

Police have been investigating, but now want to hear from witnesses, especially other teenagers who were believed to have been there.

The incident happened at what's normally a busy junction at school run time

Detective Constable Kate Rhodes, of Weymouth CID, said:

“We are continuing to investigate this matter and I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident and has not already spoken to police to please get in touch. I know that there were a number of teenagers that witnessed the assault and I would ask that if anyone who is reading this and has videoed it or knows of any recordings, they do the right thing and come forward.

"The incident also occurred by a busy junction in the middle of the afternoon, I am keen to hear from any motorists or road users who may have captured anything of relevance on dashcam footage or helmet cameras to please review it with my thanks.”

A 13-year-old local boy has attended a voluntary police interview in connection with the incident.

He's been released under investigation as further enquiries are carried out.
