It's back! Sutton Poyntz Victorian Street Fayre returns today

It's the first time it's been held since 2018

After four years away, the Sutton Poyntz Victorian Street Fayre near Weymouth is back today (Sunday 3rd July.

It's all aimed at keeping the Victorian tradition alive, with locals dressing up in period costume and we are all encouraged to do the same.

David Langridge, chairman of the Street Fayre committee said:

"The Fayre has built a reputation for the family entertainment on offer and people come from far and wide, but it is always about our village having a fun community day and rather successfully managing to give a lot of money to local and national projects and charities."

The Fayre was held in Sutton Poyntz regularly up until the First World War, before being revived in 1994.

Since then, it's raised almost £150,000 for charities - and this year is supporting the Weldmar Hospice.

The event's likely to attract hundreds of people to the picturesque village
