A van fire in a Bournemouth car park is being treated as suspicious, with investigations underway.

Dorset Police say they were called out to Hawkwood Road in Boscombe at around 12.35am yesterday morning (23rd March), to reports of a vehicle alight.

After discussions with Dorset & Wiltshire Fire Service, it's believed the blaze was started deliberately.

PC Greg Johnson, of Bournemouth police, said:

“I am appealing to any witnesses who saw what happened, or may have seen suspicious activity in the vicinity, to please come forward.

“Also, I would ask any motorists who were driving in the area with a dashcam fitted to their vehicle to please check their footage for anything that may help our investigation.”

If you can help with any information, you're asked to contact Dorset Police on 101, quoting reference number 55230044829.

You can also call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
