STURMINSTER NEWTON: Three men arrested following assault and robbery

Three men have been arrested in connection with an alleged assault and robbery in North Dorset.

A 15 year old boy was targeted in Sturminster Newton, at a bus stop on Station Road between 10.00 and 10.15pm on Thursday night (21st April).

The victim was reportedly assaulted by a male teenager and a short time later, approached by a group of people who stole his bag.

ARRESTS MADE

A 21 year old male from North Dorset has been arrested on suspicion of theft.

A 19 year old male from the Dorchester area was arrested on suspicion of theft and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.

An 18 year old male from North Dorset has been arrested on suspicion of assault and theft - he's been released under investigation while enquiries are ongoing.

Detective Inspector Nicky Jenkins, of Weymouth CID, said:

“We are continuing to investigate these incidents and would urge any witnesses who have not already spoken to police to please get in touch.”
