Two suspected stolen bikes have been recovered by police in Bournemouth, with an appeal to trace the owners.

Officers were called to reports of a moped having been stolen from the Milburn Road car park in Westbourne at around 11.00pm on Wednesday (2nd October).

It was later found by the owner nearby at around 1.00am yesterday (Thursday 3rd October), alongside the bikes.

They're a grey Apollo Transport electric folding bike and a lime green Specialized Rockhopper bicycle.

Detective Constable Hannah Duell, of BCP CID, said:

“We are continuing to investigate this matter and we are issuing images of the bicycles that have been recovered in the hope of identifying their owners.

“We would urge anyone who recognises the bikes from their descriptions and thinks they may be the owner to please come forward, giving as much detail as possible, such as serial numbers and distinguishing marks, so we can confirm ownership.”

If you have information about the theft, or who the bikes might belong to, you're asked to call Dorset Police on 101, quoting reference number 55240152048.

You can also contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
