A 6-year-old girl is singlehandedly clearing up the Marsh in Weymouth, and she's penned a letter to Boris Johnson too.

Year 1 Beechcroft pupil Hali Green spends her Friday evenings picking up litter around the park.

And now, she has a special message for everyone else using the skatepark. One of her teachers, Cllr Alex Fuhrmann, challenged her to create a poster to send to the community asking everyone to help keep the Marsh skate park area clean.

So, she made this poster, which reads:

"Keep our skate park tidy, put your rubbish in the bin, be kind to each other, stay safe and have fun, always be respectful, if you fall down it's ok, get back up and try again."

But Hali's not content just to reach locals, she's also petitioned Boris Johnson to ask the public to help keep litter in the bin.

She wrote the letter last year having seen so many masks littered across the ground.

Hali's mum, Tasha Green said:

"She does it all off her own back as well, it's all Hali, she gets the encouragement from me but she's the one who will come home from school, I'll say "Shall we go for a walk?" and she'll say "Yes, but we're going to litter pick."

"Hali's got selective mutism as well, so sometimes you don't hear her voice at all but she's worked out even if you can't hear her voice, she can definitely make her voice heard."
