Hell hath no fury than that of a wasps nest being attacked with a flamethrower.

That was the discovery of a man from Shaftesbury as he tried to remove a nest from a commercial property.

Firefighters were called to Cann on Tuesday 1st September at 18:20 pm after the man set fire to a tree in an attempt to destroy a wasp nest.

Crews found a tree stump smouldering on arrival, which was further aggravating the wasps.

They used one hose reel jet to put the fire out.
