Cigarettes and vodka stolen in Shaftesbury burglary

The Spar on Mampitts Lane has been targeted

A number of cigarettes and a bottle of vodka have been stolen from a Shaftesbury shop during a burglary.

The front door of the Spar in Mampitts Lane was damaged for thieves to get in at around 2.30am on Sunday (6th March).

There's now an appeal for witnesses to come forward.

PC Kier Dagnall, of North Dorset police, said:

“Enquiries are underway to identify who was responsible and an examination of the scene has been carried out.

“I am appealing to anyone who saw or heard any suspicious activity in the area around the relevant time to please get in touch.

“I would also like to hear from anyone who has been offered any cigarettes for sale locally in unusual circumstances.”
