Police say residents of a property in Shaftesbury have been left frighten after their front door was kicked down.

Officers have just released details of the incident that happened in Ten Acres on Wednesday night.

At around 11.45pm a group of people was outside an address, when one of them banged on the door before running off.

A short time later just after midnight on Thursday 24 June 2021 it is reported that someone kicked the front door of the property causing it to fall from its hinges, before again running off.

Nothing was stolen from inside the address.

Police Constable Nick May, of North Dorset police, said:

"This must have been a very frightening incident for the residents of the property.

"I am appealing to anyone who saw or heard any suspicious activity around the relevant time to please get in contact.

"I would also urge residents in the area to please check their home CCTV systems for any relevant footage that may assist my enquiries."
