Detectives have renewed their appeal for information, following a suspected armed robbery in Shaftesbury.

It's as a man, previously arrested in connection with the incident, has been released from the investigation with no further police action.

Dorset Police believe a man, in possession of a handgun, entered the Co-op on Beaufoy Close at lunchtime (1.36pm) on Wednesday 30 June.

It's thought he then demanded money from a shop worker, and left with a large quantity of cash.

Detective Constable Dave Barnes, of Weymouth CID, said: “Our investigation into this incident is still very much ongoing and we are continuing to explore a number of lines of enquiry to identify the man responsible.

“I would again urge any witnesses, or anyone with information that might assist our investigation, to please come forward if you have not already spoken to police.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Dorset Police at www.dorset.police.uk, via email 101@dorset.pnn.police.uk or by calling 101, quoting occurrence number 55210104201.
