Two children and two adults are being treated for serious injuries following a crash near Sherborne.

The collision, involving a white Range Rover and a blue Renault Clio, happened at 9.13pm on 18th December on the A30, between Castle Town Way and Oborne Road.

Emergency services attended and the road was closed as they worked at the scene.

A woman in her 30s, a 7-year-old boy, and a 9-year-old boy were taken to hospital by air ambulance.

A man in his 30s was also transported to hospital in an ambulance.

A man in his 40s from Yeovil has been arrested on suspicion of driving offences. He was also taken to hospital for treatment to injuries that are not believed to be serious.

The road remains closed as investigations continue.

Police urge witnesses to come forward

Sergeant Dave Cotterill from Dorset Police’s Roads Policing Team has appealed for witnesses and dashcam footage that could help their investigation.

“We are carrying out a full investigation into the circumstances of this collision and I am keen to hear from anyone who saw what happened,” Sergeant Cotterill said.

“I would also urge anyone who was travelling in the area around the time of the collision to please review any dashcam footage to see if they have captured anything that might assist our enquiries.

“Finally, I would like to thank members of the public for their patience during the road closures, which are necessary to allow for the emergency services to respond and for a thorough examination of the collision scene to be conducted.”
