A six year old girl had to be airlifted to hospital following the collision

Police are investigating after a collision between two cars on A37 at Holywell Cross left four people injured.

It involved a black Ford Focus and a silver Mercedes and happened at just after 8pm last night (29 October).

The driver of the Ford sustained serious injuries and two passengers sustained minor injuries, whilst a third passenger in the vehicle - a six year old girl - had to be airlifted to hospital. She is now said to be in a serious condition. The occupants of the Mercedes were uninjured.

Sergeant Sarah Jones, of the traffic unit, said: “We are carrying out a detailed investigation to establish the full circumstances of this collision and I would urge anyone who witnessed what happened to please contact us.

“I would also like to hear from anyone who may have captured anything of relevance on dashcam footage."
