A man's suffered a serious head injury after being assaulted by a group of men in Dorchester.

Police say he was with a woman who tried to climb through the window of a house in London Road at around 5.00am on Sunday (10th November).

Four men then came out of the property and attacked the victim, who's in his 40s.

He also suffered an arm injury and was treated in hospital.

PC Antony Frost, of Dorset Police, said:

“This was a nasty assault where the victim required hospital treatment to a serious injury.

“We are continuing to investigate a number of lines of enquiry to identify those responsible for this assault and I would urge anyone with information relating to this incident to please contact us.

“I am keen to speak to the woman who was reportedly with the man when the assault took place and I would urge her to come forward should she read this appeal.

“From our enquiries, we believe there may have been some people in the area around the time of this assault and I would be keen to speak to anyone who saw what happened.

“Furthermore, I would also like to hear from anyone who was driving in the area and may have captured relevant dashcam footage.”
