Search underway for driver after fail-to-stop crash in Bournemouth
There were no reports of any injuries
A search is underway to find the driver of a black Volvo after a crash in Bournemouth.
It happened on Lansdowne Road, at the junction with Beechey Road, when the car reportedly hit a Vauxhall Corsa and drove off without stopping.
No one was hurt but the Vauxhall was damaged, and the Volvo is thought to have damage to its headlights.
In a statement, Dorset Police said: "Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage to come forward following a fail-to-stop road traffic collision in Bournemouth.
"It was reported that at around 8.40pm on Friday 5 December 2025 a car – believed to be a black Volvo – collided with a Vauxhall Corsa in Lansdowne Road, at the junction with Beechey Road.
"There were no reports of any injuries, but the damage was caused to the Vauxhall and it was believed the Volvo sustained damage to its headlights.
"It was reported that the Volvo failed to stop at the scene. Officers attended and carried out a search of the area, but the vehicle was not located."
Police Constable Kier Dagnall, of the Roads Policing Team, said: “We are continuing to carry out enquiries in order to identify the driver of the vehicle involved.
“I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision, or who may have captured relevant dashcam footage, to please contact us.
“I would also like to hear from anyone who may have come across a black Volvo that has sustained damage to its headlights in unexplained circumstances since the evening of Friday 5 December 2025.”
