Being in lockdown didn't stop two groups of climbers travelling to Dorset at the weekend.

Officers were called to Wakeham on Portland after reports of rock climbers in out in large groups.

Some of the climbers had travelled from Southampton and London - for what they said was their daily exercise.

A spokesman for Weymouth & Portland Police said:

"All persons were dealt with accordingly and directed to leave the area by officers.

"Please can we remind the public that you are to complete daily exercise in your local area only.

"Officers from the local Neighbourhood Policing Team will be carrying out further enhanced patrols and will issue fines."
