Homeowners living along a stretch of the River Stour in Dorset are being urged to prepare for possible flooding.

The water level is rising after heavy rain.

Two flood warnings have been issued by the Environment Agency covering an area from Hammoon near Sturminster Newton, through Blandford and down to Sturminster Marshall.

An Environment Agency spokesperson said: "We are monitoring rainfall and river levels and are checking rivers for blockages in the area.

"Consider activating any property flood protection products.

"Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses and do not attempt to walk or drive through flood water."
