Man makes court appearance in connection to reported rape of teen in Poole

The 19-year-old is next due to appear at Bournemouth Crown Court in May

A man has appeared in court in connection with the reported rape of a teenage girl in Poole.

The incident is said to have happened in the Upton County Park area on the afternoon of Saturday 13 March 2021.

It was reported that a 14-year-old girl was the victim of rape and sexual assault.

A 19-year-old man from Folkestone in Kent, who was 17 at the time of the incident, was arrested in connection with the matter.

Following a detailed investigation by Dorset Police’s Child Abuse Investigation Team, he was issued with a postal requisition to appear at Poole Magistrates' Court on Friday 29 April 2022 for offences of rape and assault by penetration.

He is next due to appear at Bournemouth Crown Court on Monday 30 May 2022.
