Angel Rabbit Rescue has been run by Amanda Mullins, from her home in Buckland Newton, for more than ten years.

She says the number of rabbits coming in to the rescue is rising:

"The main reasons for surrender is because the kids are bored, or I'm moving and I can't take them with me, or I can't give them the time they need.

"Each rabbit will cost us a minimum of £170 - and if it needs teeth or anything else, it can just go up.

"Luckily we have a brilliant vet, Piddle Valley Vets, they're amazing.

"We are a self-funded rescue. Myself and my husband funded it for the first few years - vet fees and things like that.

"We've got some brilliant helpers. They're amazing. They will go and get rabbits at the drop of a hat, they will foster, run backwards and forwards to the vets.

"We do fundraising events, because it's so expensive.

"It's hard work. There's a lot of poo! I have been known to be down cleaning rabbits all night. It's just something, if it needs to be done, then it's done.

"But we are homing them. And we're quite strict who we home to, but we're homing them."
