An electrical fire caused disruption to power at Bridport Community Hospital overnight.

A electricity pylon at the rear of the hospital caught fire.

Two crews from Bridport put the blaze out.

A spokesperson for Bridport Fire Station said:

"On arrival crews found one high voltage pylon arcing and on fire. This also caused vegetation below the pylon to catch fire

"Crews extinguished the vegetation fire and requested the attendance of Western Power Distribution to isolate the pylon.

"Power was interrupted at the hospital and the local area.

"Once the power had been isolated and the fire was out, the incident was passed over to Western Power."
