The rider of the motorbike – 22-year-old Jet Thomas-Day from Weymouth – was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the car did not sustain any injuries.

Police Constable James Hazell, of the Roads Policing Team, said: “Our thoughts remain with the family and friends of the man who very sadly died in this collision.

“We are continuing to investigate the circumstances of this collision and would like to hear from any witnesses who have not already spoken to police, or anyone who may have captured relevant dashcam footage.

“I am particularly keen to hear from the driver of a blue Ford Fiesta which travelled southbound on the B3390, from Crossways to Warmwell, around the time of the collision. They may have information that could assist our enquiries.”
