Police in Dorchester are now stepping up patrols after further cases of small fires being lit in the town.

The latest fire, involving piles of dry leaves, was at the back of Trinity Street car park.

A spokesperson for Dorchester Police said:

"This behaviour is a mindless disregard of their own and others safety and the environment.

"Dorset Police are increasing their patrols in these areas and urge members of the public to call in at the time should you see anyone acting in an Anti Social manner."
