Patrols for poachers along the River Frome

Police respond to reports of illegal fishing.

Police have been conducting patrols along the River Frome in Dorchester, on the look-out for poachers.

They have been responding to reports of anti-social behaviour and people illegally fishing.

Officers are urging anyone who see's illegal fishing, poaching or hare coursing to call 999.

A spokesman for Dorchester Police said:

"We need people to report poaching, hare coursing and illegal fishing to us at the time it's happening by calling 999 immediately.

"Recent incidents, that are not happening at the time, can be reported by calling 101 or emailing 101@dorset.pnn.police.uk

"Anyone that sees a suspected incident of poaching should call 999, reporting as much information as possible such as vehicle registration, make and model if possible online at www.dorset.police.uk."
