Man suffers eye injury during suspected Hate Crime incident

Dorset Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward following a homophobic aggravated assault in Bournemouth town centre.
The incident was reported to the police at 9.53pm on Monday 6 March 2023 in Exeter Crescent. According to reports, a man hurled homophobic abuse at two men before pushing one of them to the ground, causing an injury to his eye which is not believed to be serious.
The police arrived at the scene and conducted an investigation, including checking CCTV footage for any evidence that could help in identifying the suspect.
Police Constable Jack Cornick, from Bournemouth police, said: “Dorset Police does not tolerate hate crime and an investigation is underway to identify the person responsible. I would ask anyone who was in the area and saw what happened to please contact us."
He added: "Also, I am appealing for anyone with any information about the identity of the offender to please come forward. We need to bring the perpetrator to justice and ensure that such incidents are not repeated in the future."
The police have emphasized that hate crime of any kind will not be tolerated and have urged the public to come forward with any information that could help in the investigation.
