Police say she sustained a 'nasty injury'
Police have issued an image of a man they are trying to trace after a woman was bitten by a dog in Bournemouth.
At around 12pm on Thursday 8 September a woman aged in her 60s was walking across a pedestrian crossing on Holdenhurst Road in Springbourne when she was approached by a man with what was believed to be a Malinois-type dog. The dog bit the victim on the arm, causing a deep laceration.
Members of the public came to the victim’s aid. The dog owner left the scene without leaving his details.
The man with the dog is described as being aged in his 40s with long brown hair.
Police Constable Jennie Sykes-Martin, of Dorset Police, said: “This incident left the victim with a nasty injury, and we are carrying out enquiries to identify the dog owner involved.
“I would urge anyone who recognises the man from this image to please contact us.”
