Police find two knives during Weymouth stop and search

Two knives have been found on a young man in Weymouth.

Officers from the Weymouth and Portland policing team carried out a stop and search on a young male in the King Street area yesterday evening.

It was after information which was received from a member of the public.

Concerns were raised that a young male matching the males description was in possession of a knife.

A Spokesperson from Dorset Police told Greatest Hits Radio Dorset:

"Two knives were located on the search of the male. He has been arrested and is on route to custody.

"A Section 35 Dispersal Order is in place covering the area of Weymouth. A number of people have already been issued with dispersal notices."
