Police appeal after report of sexual assault in Bournemouth

A man aged in his 20s has been arrested after police received a report of a sexual assault in Bournemouth yesterday morning.

A concern was raised for the welfare of a woman in Christchurch Road in Boscombe shortly after 7am.

Specialist officers are continuing to support the victim.

Detective Inspector Darren Moores, of BCP CID, said: “We are conducting enquiries into this incident as we seek to establish the full circumstances of what happened, and we are appealing for any witnesses who have not already spoken to police to please come forward.

“In particular, from our enquiries we understand a man was seen walking his dog in the area around the relevant time and we would be keen to speak to this individual as a witness, as they may have information to assist our enquiries.

“A cordon was put in place as enquiries were conducted at the scene and there will be an increased policing presence in the area. Officers can be approached by members of the public with any information or concerns."
