A man in his 80s is recovering from ‘serious not life threatening’ injuries after a serious road traffic collision in Weymouth.

Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage from February 10 on East Street, in Chickerell, to come forward.

The incident took place at around 11.30am and involved a Ford Kuga.

Dorset Police attended the scene alongside the ambulance service to provide emergency care for the elderly pedestrian.

Police Constable Georgia Hedditch, of Dorset Police, said: “We are carrying out enquiries into this collision to establish the full circumstances and I would urge any witnesses who have not already spoken to police to please contact us.

"I understand a bus was passing by at the time so there may have been passengers onboard who saw what happened.

“I would also like to hear from anyone who was driving in the area or captured relevant dashcam footage that may assist with our enquiries.”
