A partially blind dog's been rescued after falling 8ft down a cliff on Portland.

Due to his poor eye sight, the terrier had misjudged the cliff edge and took a tumble yesterday afternoon (Thursday 22nd October).

The owner rung the coastguard and rescue teams from Portland and Wyke Regis were sent to the scene.

One of the team was winched down using ropes to get the dog - who was retrieved after being persuaded with a few doggy treats.

Despite the ordeal, the dog luckily didn't sustain any injuries.
