A man has been assaulted at a Bridport bar, suffering a cut above his left eye.

The victim, who works at the Pursuit of Hoppiness in West Street, was attacked at the venue, while he was off-duty at around 8.45pm on Sunday 3rd July.

A 52 year old man from Poole was arrested at the scene, on suspicion of assault.

He's been released under investigation while enquiries continue.

Dorset Police are asking any witnesses to come forward, if they can help with any information.

PC Mike Rumsby said:

“We believe that the bar was fairly busy at the time and there may be further witnesses to the incident who have not yet spoken with police.

“I would urge them to please come forward to help our investigation.”
