Dorchester's Oden cinema, found in Brewery Square, is preparing to reopen it's doors to film watchers on Monday 17th following the Government's easing of restrictions.
Singletons, friends, families and those on date nights can enjoy a range of new films coming out including 'Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway', 'Fast & Furious 9', Marvel's 'Black Widow', 'Top Gun: Maverick' and the long awaited 'No Time to Die'.
There will be safety measures in place as the Odeon say the wellbeing of their customers and guests is their top priority.
All cinemas across the country will be Covid compliant, with strict social distancing regulations.
Working with the UK Cinema association, they are introducing new health and safety measures.
When entering the cinema guests have to wear a suitable face mask but when seated you will be socially distanced and can remove it.
There are number of other safety measures in place:
- Limiting the number of seats for sale for each film, with unoccupied sates between parties.
- Staggered start times to reduce queues, with floor markings.
- Booking online is recommended for visual only ticket checks.
- Pre-packed food and drink will be available.
- Cash will no longer be accepted, it will be contactless payments only.
- More frequent and thorough cleaning routines will take place throughout the cinema, with extra controls in toilet facilities.
- Stations offering sanitising gels and wipes will be available.
- Cinema teams are trained up on new safety and hygiene measures.
- Staff will be equipped with PPE including face coverings and gloves.
Carol Welch, Managing Director ODEON Cinemas Group UK, said:
"I am delighted to be welcoming guests back to experience the joy of the big screen at ODEON on 17 May. We've all missed the magic that the cinema brings to movie watching, and we know our guests are excited about coming back. We are sure they will enjoy the great new offers that make their movie experiences better than ever. I would like to say a huge thank you to all our ODEON team members for their amazing energy and commitment over the last 12 months which has allowed us to get back to what we do best - welcoming guests back to experience movies in the best possible way."
