Quayside Music Festival's New Year's 2021 celebrations on Weymouth Harbour have been pushed back to next year.

The event was due to go ahead on December 31st from 7pm to the early hours of New Year's day.

With the uncertainty surrounding Covid-19 and the new Omicron variant the organisers say they have made "a very difficult decision and with a very heavy heart" they have had to cancelled the event.

The news was announced in a post on the Quayside Music Festival Facebook Page, it read:

"Hey everyone, we’ve made a very difficult decision and with a very heavy heart we’ve had to cancel this NYE Quayside Music Festival. We know many of you will be disappointed, as are we. We’re sure you can appreciate the reasons why this decision has been taken, but don’t worry, 2022 we will be back bigger and better than ever before 💕"
