A DRINKS application has been submitted for two Weymouth harbourside food businesses on Customs House Quay.

Catch at the Old Fish Market, upstairs above Weyfish, is planning to offer a lunch and dinner service for up to 44 guests, trading seven days a week.

It is requesting a 9am until 10pm drinks licence with closing time at 11pm.

The ‘Hatch on the Harbour’, also on Customs House Quay, is requesting a licence for noon until 8pm seven days a week.

Applicant Ian Barratt says the business serves street seafood as a takeaway or to guests sitting outside the 4 by 4m commercial kitchen.

He says the daily licence will allow the business to sell drinks as an accompaniment to food.

Public comments on the applications can be made via the licensing section of the Dorset Council website but must be received by March 10th.
