New local healthcare delivery methods developed during the pandemic will be highlighted at an online meeting later this month.

The Dorset HealthCare is hosting their Annual Members’ Meeting online for the second year in a row.

The meeting will look ahead to future developments, outlining how the Trust is making the most of technology to meet the needs of local patients and service users.

The Trust provides services at over 300 sites, serving over 800,000 people with its staff of around 6,000.

The webinar-style event will also reflect on how the Trust has helped during the pandemic by delivering the county’s mass vaccination service.

Their vaccine programme involved opening a mass vaccination site at the Bournemouth International Centre, which delivered over 120,000 vaccines in the eight months before it closed in mid-September.

The efforts of the Trust and volunteers have helped nine in ten over-16s in Dorset receive at least one jab.

Andy Willis, Chair of the Dorset HealthCare Trust, said the meeting ‘will take stock of how we’ve adapted our services to continue providing the support that so many people depend upon.

‘We’ll also look ahead at our vision for future services that will continue to empower people to make the most of their lives.’

Acknowledging his disappointment that the meeting would be online rather than in person, Mr Willis added: ‘we know that this is the right thing to do when there are still health risks from larger gatherings as we go into winter.

‘Last year’s ‘virtual’ event worked well, and we’re confident it will be just as successful this time around.

‘We hope lots of local people log in to the meeting, learn more about our services and put their questions to us.”

The Trust is inviting members of the public to attend the meeting, which will be held on Microsoft Teams on Wednesday 20th October between 3.30pm and 5pm.

Anyone wishing to attend can register their interest at www.dorsethealthcare.nhs.uk/AMM.
