It's two years since James Bond: No Time to Die was originally set to be released, but could it have arrived just in time to save theatres?

Queues are pictured forming outside Dorchester's Plaza cinema last night for a 00:05 showing of the film.

The cinema says it's almost fully booked for this weekend's showings.

Three out of the theatre's four screens will be showing the film all weekend, with other films relegated to the final screen.

Clayton Everett is the manager. He told Greatest Hits Radio Dorset:

"It's a fantastic feeling to see the numbers that we already have booked in.

"It's really buoying everyone in the cinema. We're all looking forward to a really busy run for this film.

"Whether or not it's the film that's going to save cinemas, I'll reserve judgement on that, but it looks like it at the moment."

Clayton says it's performed like no other film has since cinemas were allowed to reopen earlier this year.

Marvel Studio's Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings came close to filling out seats, but only in one screen, Clayton told us.

"The difference is incredible. As soon as we put it on sale it started selling tickets.

"People have been waiting for this film for a very long time and they're very excited to see it."
