New arrests made in connection with Weymouth stabbing
The victim was left needing surgery
Detectives investigating an alleged stabbing in Weymouth have made two further arrests.
Dorset Police received a report at 2.30am on Monday 31 May, from the ambulance service of a stabbing on Westhill Road near to the junction with Pirates Lane.
It was reported that the victim – a man aged in his 40s – was assaulted by a group of men. He sustained stab wounds that required surgery and was taken to hospital for treatment. He has since left hospital.
A 28-year-old local man was previously arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent and was released on police bail.
Following further enquiries by detectives from Weymouth CID, two further men – aged 25 and 28 and both from Weymouth – have also been arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent and have been released on police bail as the investigation continues.
