Motorcyclist suffers life-threatening injuries after crash near Weymouth

A motorcyclist is in a life-threatening condition in hospital after a crash near Weymouth.

The collision on the B3157 Bramdon Lane between the junctions for Rodden and Langton Herring was reported to police at 4.42pm yesterday afternoon (10 June).

It involved a black Suzuki motorcycle and a white Nissan Interstar van.

The air ambulance service took a man to hospital with life-threatening injuries. His next of kin has been made aware.

A man has been arrested on suspicion of a driving offence.

Sergeant Lee Savage, of the Roads Policing Team, said: “Our enquiries into the circumstances of this collision are ongoing and I urge any witnesses who have not already spoken to police to please contact us.

“We are aware several vehicles continued their journey towards Bridport and we are particularly interested to hear from them as they may have information that could assist the investigation.

“Also, I would like to hear from anyone with a dashcam who may have captured the incident or the manner of driving of either vehicle leading up to it."
