Motorcyclist suffers life-threatening injuries in Weymouth crash

A motorcyclist has suffered life-threatening injuries in a crash in Weymouth this morning (Thursday 27th July).

The Zontes bike collided with a red Skoda Fabia on Newstead Road, at the junction with the S354 near Asda, at around 8.30am.

The rider's been taken to hospital, while the Skoda driver didn't suffer any serious injuries.

Dorset Police is now investigating what happened.

Sergeant Dave Cotterill, of the Roads Policing Team, said:

“An investigation is underway to establish what happened and I am appealing for any witnesses to please come forward.

“I am keen to hear from any motorists with a dashcam fitted who may have relevant footage to assist my enquiries.

“Finally, I would like to thank the local community for their patience and understanding while the road closures were in place. They were absolutely necessary to enable us to conduct a thorough investigation.”
