Motorcyclist seriously hurt in fail-to-stop collision near Corfe Castle

A motorcyclist has suffered serious neck injuries in a fail-to-stop collision in Purbeck.

A van and a motorbike were involved in an incident at around 9.15am on the Friday before last (26th July), on Corfe Road near Corfe Castle.

It's reported the motorbike collided with an embankment, after taking evasive action to avoid the van.

The driver didn't stop at the scene, with the rider in his 70s taken to hospital.

PC Rob Cook, of Wareham police, said:

“An investigation is underway and we would like to hear from any witnesses, or anyone with relevant dashcam footage, who have not already spoken to police.

“I would also urge the driver of the white van to please do the right thing and get in touch with us so we can take your account of the incident.”
