Dorset Police are stepping up patrols in Dorchester after reports of young people drinking alcohol, making noise and killing local wildlife.

The Force are warning that harming or killing a wild bird is a criminal offence.

Dorchester Council, Dorset Council and Dorset Police are working to clear the old tennis courts by Bowling Alley Walks as more anti-social behaviour is being reported there.

A Spokeperson from Dorchester Police said:

"Reports of youths causing noise, consuming alcohol and wildlife being killed, "Injuring or killing a wild bird is an offence against the wildlife and countryside Act"

"The Neighbourhood team have been working with both the Town Council and County Council to tidy the area, shrubbery has been cut back and lights repaired. Patrols are being conducted by NPT to deter any further incidents, should you see anything of concern please report at the time."
