Mixed reviews of Weymouth Quay's 'migraine inducing' fresh lick of paint
Some say it adds a touch of colour, others say it's too much.
Pavement at Weymouth's Custom House Quay has been given a fresh lick of green paint.
The bright colour has been dragged through the mud by critics who call it 'migraine inducing' and disgusting.
Today Greatest Hits Radio Dorset has been hearing mixed reviews from passers-by.
Some holiday makers said:
"I thought it was horrible. It gives me funny eyes, makes me go dizzy because I suffer with migraines. It just made me feel funny, my eyes went all funny."
A local fisherman told Greatest Hits Radio:
"I don't know what to say to be quite honest with you. I wouldn't like to say what I thought about the council and what they've done with it to be quite honest. When you've got to earn your living down here it's a blooming nightmare.
"Still I suppose it will hide what the drinkers leave behind at the weekend"
Others disputed the colour itself and said it resembled more of a yellow colour.
"I think it's quite cheerful. Any colour anywhere is welcome. If you look around you at Weymouth Harbour you'll see a lot of houses are coloured and on a rainy day like today having a bit of yellow is a ray of sunshine."
Josephine Parker runs Ebike on the Quay. She said:
"I'm all for environmental-friendly colours but it's a little bit standoffish for the harbour. I'm hoping it will weather in time."
Greatest Hits Radio has reached out to Dorset Council but they have yet to provide a comment.
