Missing dog found near Cerne Abbas after suspected theft

A dog which was suspected to have been stolen in West Dorset has been found and is now back home.

Gerry, a red Cocker Spaniel, was reported to have disappeared from a kennel outside a residential in Hilfield between 11:30am and 12:30pm on Monday 8 December.

Dorset Police say following searches by officers and a media appeal, Gerry was found safe and well near Cerne Abbas this morning (December 10).

The force added that enquires into the incident are ongoing.
